Tyler Underwood and Riesen Kimmerly Car Accident – Obituary Hamlin, NY: In loving memory of woman who died after West Ridge Road crash in Greece, New York

GREECE, N.Y. — The death toll has risen to three following a two-vehicle crash earlier this month at the intersection of West Ridge Road and Elmgrove Road, according to the Greece Police Department.

Police confirmed Monday that 25-year-old Riesen Kimmerly of Hamlin has died from injuries sustained in the crash, which occurred around 1 p.m. on Jan. 17. Kimmerly was driving a vehicle that was stopped at a red light when it was rear-ended, investigators said. Her death was confirmed Saturday, according to her obituary.

Kimmerly and her boyfriend, Tyler Underwood, 28, also of Hamlin, were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries following the collision. Underwood, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died five days later on Jan. 22.

Police said the crash occurred when a westbound pickup truck driven by Craig Cavallaro, 42, of Hilton, struck Kimmerly’s vehicle from behind. Cavallaro was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to an online fundraiser established to support Kimmerly, both she and Underwood suffered traumatic head injuries and multiple broken bones. The couple’s puppy, which was also inside the vehicle at the time of the crash, died as a result of the collision.

Family members reported that Kimmerly underwent surgery for her injuries, which included a collapsed lung and a brain bleed.

The Greece Police Department said the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.

“The Greece Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of those who tragically lost their lives in this incident during this incredibly difficult time,” the department said in a news release.
